SATURDAY AND SUNDAY 04-05 MARCH.
Teams of ladies, men or mixed fours from across the Darling Downs, and further afield, arrive every year to play in the annual Crows Nest Heritage Bank Carnival. The tournament is run over a Saturday and a Sunday, usually in the early part of the year.
Prizes are really generous! The overall winning team for the two days in 2023 will be rewarded with $2200 in prize-money; runners-up will receive $1400; third place and fourth will earn $900 and $500 per team. As well there are round winners’ prizes of $200 for each team.
A total of five games will be played (18 ends or the bell) – three on the Saturday from 9am, and the remainder on the following Sunday morning.
You won’t go hungry at the Heritage Bank Crows Nest Open Fours Carnival.Saturday starts with morning tea, followed some time later on with a sumptuous lunch break, at the end of the second game. Afternoon tea provides a welcome respite, with nibblies available before you head home to revive for the morning. Sunday morning’s breakfast is not to be missed, and lunch fills you up if there’s any room left.
The 2023 Heritage Bank Open Fours Carnival, is also sponsored by our friends at Burstows Funerals via their generous Gifting Back initiative. The team entry fee for the upcoming carnival is $300.
Bowlers – watch for flyers and posters advertising our next event in 2023. Ask your Club Secretary for a copy of our latest date claimer toward the end of the year; and look for our nomination forms on your club noticeboard during January/February.
Because we’ve got only one green, it’s always a case of “first in best dressed.” So please nominate as soon as you can when the entry forms become available – your team could be the one that gets the bragging rights and takes away the top prize.
